SUMMARY:Hydrogen: Need for action and opportunities
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday April 26, 2023, Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger, President of FAU and Prof. Dr. Veronica Grimm, member at FAU MoD will open the #FAUinsights lectures organised by FAU, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and EnCN, Energie Campus Nürnberg to discuss on hydrogen and its possible applications:\n• FAU’s hydrogen strategy (“Die Wasserstoffstrategie der FAU”)\nBy Prof. Dr. -Ing.  Joachim Hornegger, President of FAU.\nScientists have been working on modern storage technologies for hydrogen since 2010 and the successful spin-off of Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies in 2013 impressively shows the innovative strength. In addition to storage technologies, FAU deals with many other topics related to hydrogen, which are dealt with in interdisciplinary joint projects. FAU is actively involved in shaping and promoting the future of hydrogen.\n• Hydrogen: need for action and opportunities (“Wasserstoff: Handlungsbedarf und Chancen”)\nBy Prof. Dr. Veronica Grimm, FAU MoD member.\nIn order for the transformation to climate neutrality to succeed, hydrogen and the material energy carriers based on it must play a central role – in addition to direct electrification. Germany’s potential for producing hydrogen using renewable energies is far from sufficient to cover the expected demand. A large part of the hydrogen demand will therefore be imported. The technical and logistical requirements for transport must be created and imports must be initiated quickly on a large scale – especially in view of the complex regulatory and approval processes in Europe. In her presentation, Veronika Grimm examines the need for action and the opportunities associated with ramping up the hydrogen economy.\nModeration by: Markus Rützel, Managing Director at Energy Campus Nuremberg.\nWHEN?\nWed. April 26, 2023 (17:00H – 18:30H)\nWHERE?\nOn-site / Online. (No registration needed)\nOn-site:\nEnergy Campus Nuremberg.\nFürther Str. 250, “Auf AEG”..
